Knitting Pattern childrens dress ROSA
Ebook Knitting and sewing pattern childs dress ROSA
This dress has a knitted yoke and a sewn skirt attached to it.
This dress turns out to be very special if you use a second-hand man’s shirt, cut off below the sleeves (as you can see with the reddish dress in the photographs). You could also opt to add another layer of fabric to the skirt, e.g. an underskirt or an apron, which you can see pictured in the navy blue/white version of the “Rosa” dress. Since the top part is a small knitted piece and you just add a simple sewn skirt, this is a project which can be realised very quickly.
The yoke is knitted in moss stitch and you should know how to work short rows and i-cord. The sewing is done with three straight seams so only basic sewing skills are needed.
The pattern includes detailed instructions for sizes 74/80 to 122/128 (1 year old to 8 year old) and gives metric measurements.
You can use any woll that knits up to a gauge of 21.5 sts / 10cm (4 inch). I already used Hey Mama Wolf #02 and #03, Rosy Green Wool "Cheeky Merino Joy" and BC Garn "Semilla".
The child’s dress design “Rosa” was inspired by the folk dress of the Schaumburg-Lippe region in Germany. Here the women wear a knitted shawl wrapped around their chest above a wide skirt.
